This is a story about incredible women who changed the world around them and were not afraid to oppose the totalitarian system.

"Hooligans" in art, who did not want to bow before boring stereotypical images inherent in Soviet art, and created their own bright path.

The 1960s
The 1960s were a time of rebellion, youth resistance, a struggle for civil rights and at the same time, of cultural prosperity.

There were American student riots, hippies, revolutionary events in France. In Soviet Ukraine, this was the time of the Sixtiers movement. Encouraged by the so-called "Khrushchev Thaw," these young artists and intellectuals rebelled primarily through culture.

Despite the isolation of the USSR, the Sixtiers sought to be free in self-expression just like their counterparts on the other side of the Iron Curtain. But in Ukraine, this meant direct confrontation with KGB's secret police.
